Nav Durga Iron Stores

Nav Durga Iron Stores is tucked away at 129 Belilious Road, specifically in Room No. 5. If you know this road, you know it’s full of iron and steel shops, and ours is just one of many. It’s a gritty part of town, always smelling like rust and grease, which I guess is expected when you work with iron. Our room is packed with different types of metal bits, bars, and rods. It’s not very big, so we have to stack things carefully so they don't fall over. I’ve been working here for a long time, and my joints feel it when the weather gets cold. We spend most of our time measuring and cutting pieces for people who come in from the local workshops. It’s loud because of the traffic on Belilious Road and the sound of metal hitting metal. We don't have a receptionist or anything; if you walk in, you’ll probably find me or my nephew sitting at the old wooden desk in the back. We keep our accounts in big ledger books because that’s how we’ve always done it. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to work by the light coming through the door. It’s hard work, and the dust gets everywhere, but it’s a living. We know the other shopkeepers on the block, and we help each other out when someone needs a tool or a spare hand. We just take it day by day.
