Maa Chandi Steel Corporation

If you are heading down 'P' Road near the Belgachia Jora Petrol Pump, you will find us at Maa Chandi Steel Corporation. We are over here in the Netaji Garh area of Howrah, which is always a hive of activity with all the industrial stuff going on. Our yard is filled with steel rods and plates, and there is usually the sound of metal clanking or a truck backing in to load up. It is not the quietest place to work, but we are used to the noise by now. We started this place because we knew people in the area needed a reliable spot to get steel without having to travel too far into the city. There are usually a few of us hanging around the office area, which is really just a small space partitioned off from the main storage. We keep our records in big binders and try to stay organized, even when things get hectic during the rainy season when we have to cover everything up. The petrol pump nearby is a good landmark because people sometimes get lost looking for 32/4 on this road. We don't have any big signs or bright lights, just the name on the gate and a lot of iron sitting out front. It is honest work and we like being part of the local scene here in Howrah.
