Our building is an older structure, tucked away in a spot that isn't always easy for outsiders to find on the first try. The address is 712201, and it’s a typical busy neighborhood. There’s usually some construction or a rickshaw passing by the front door making noise. We have been working out of this space for a long time, so the floors are a bit worn down in the high-traffic areas. Inside, it smells a bit like old paper and metal, which fits what we do. We don't bother with fancy decorations or expensive furniture. We have some heavy wooden desks and filing cabinets that have been with us since the start. It gets pretty humid here, especially in the middle of the year, so we keep the windows open to catch any breeze coming off the street. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out and keep chatting until it comes back on. It is a very local way of doing things, and we like the pace of Serampore. We know the shopkeepers nearby and often grab snacks from the corner stall during our breaks. It's just a regular workplace for us, nothing more and nothing less. We just keep our heads down and work through the list each day.
