H.R.Steel Industries

We are located at No.261 on the G.T. Road North side, right in the Salkia area. It’s a very busy part of town with a lot of trucks and noise from the traffic. Working with steel means the workshop is always loud anyway, with the cutting and the hitting of metal. We have been at this spot for a good number of years now. The building is old and the walls are stained with grease and soot, but it’s a solid place to work. We don’t have air conditioning or fancy chairs. It’s mostly just workbenches, heavy tools, and stacks of steel rods and sheets waiting to be used. Salkia is an industrial kind of place, so we fit right in with the other shops and small factories around us. The heat in the summer gets pretty bad, especially when the machines have been running since six in the morning. We take breaks when we can and have tea from the stall just down the road. People come to us when they need something specific made out of steel. We don’t do a lot of talking; we just look at the measurements and get to work. It’s physical labor and it’s tiring, but it’s what we do. The G.T. Road is always moving, and we are just one part of that constant movement every single day. It’s just the way things go for us here.
