D Banerjee

I’m D Banerjee, and I work out of my place at 13 /2, Peskar Lane in Howrah. If you know the area, we are quite close to Specer`s shop. The lanes here in Howrah are narrow and can be a bit confusing if you aren’t from around here, but once you find Peskar Lane, it’s easy enough. This is a very local setup. I use a part of the house for my teaching. It’s not a big school or a commercial center. It’s just me and the students sitting together and going over their lessons. The house is old, like many others in this part of Howrah. Sometimes the neighbors are noisy or you can hear the sounds from the main road, but we just ignore it and get on with the work. I don't have a receptionist or any assistants. I handle everything myself, from scheduling the times to teaching the subjects. It’s a very direct way of doing things. Students come here after their regular school hours. We usually have a bit of tea and then get straight into the books. It feels more like a home than a classroom, which I think makes the kids feel a bit more relaxed. I’ve lived in this neighborhood for years, so everyone knows where I am. It’s a simple life and a simple way of teaching. No big promises, just sitting down and doing the hard work of learning together.
