Down here in Bally, specifically on Santiram Rasta, things move at their own pace. We’ve got our iron and steel business set up in a spot that’s seen a lot of history over the years. Howrah is known for this kind of heavy work, so we fit right in with the rest of the industrial shops around here. It’s a lot of physical work and making sure the inventory counts are actually right at the end of the day. We spend most of our time dealing with iron bars and steel plates. The air usually smells a bit like metal and diesel from the delivery trucks. Our team isn't very big, but we’ve worked together for long enough that we don't need to say much to get things done. We aren't interested in being the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the local guys who need steel for their workshops or houses can get it without a major headache. Sometimes the rain makes things tricky, especially with transport, but we manage to get by. If you walk into our office, you’ll see piles of ledgers and probably a half-empty cup of tea sitting on a desk somewhere. It’s a working office, not a fancy showroom. We value honesty more than anything else. If a batch of steel isn't exactly what we expected, we don't send it out. People around here talk, and we want them to say we’re decent folks to deal with. That's how we’ve stayed here.
