Out here in Baltikuri, specifically in the Kalitala area, things are a bit more industrial. We have been at this spot for a good while now, dealing with steel in various forms. The warehouse is a big open space that echoes whenever a piece of pipe hits the ground. It can get quite hot in the summer under the tin roof, but we have some fans going to keep the air moving a little. Most of the day is spent loading and unloading trucks that come through the gates. There is always a layer of grease on the tools and the smell of metal is pretty much stuck in our clothes. We keep a small area for paperwork, but mostly we are out on the floor checking the stock levels. The rain hits the roof so loud you can’t hear yourself talk sometimes, which is just part of being in this part of town during the monsoon. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting area. If you come by, you’ll probably find us wearing work boots and covered in a bit of grime from moving the steel around. It is hard work and it is honest. We just try to keep the inventory straight so we know what is available when someone asks. The neighbors are mostly other businesses like ours, so we all know the routine of the delivery trucks blocking the lane occasionally when things get really busy.
