Bhushan Power & Steel Ltd

Our location is out in Amta, specifically in the Uttarpara village area of Howrah. Being in a village like this, the pace is a bit different than the city, but the work at Bhushan Power & Steel Ltd stays just as heavy. The office is near the P.O. Amta, so it’s a central enough spot for the locals. It’s a bit of a drive to get here, passing through a lot of green fields before you hit the industrial pockets. The building is basic, made of concrete and brick, and it stays relatively cool because of the trees around. We have a lot of space for stuff here, which is good because steel takes up a lot of room. There’s a lot of mud around during the monsoon season, and we’re always wiping our boots before coming inside. We don’t have fancy office furniture, just some sturdy wooden tables and chairs that have seen better days. The staff here is mostly local people who have been with us for a long time. We talk about the weather and the crops just as much as we talk about steel shipments. It’s a quiet life in 711401, but the work we do is important for the whole region. We just keep our heads down and do what needs doing. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait it out or use the lanterns if we have to finish the logs.
