Art Stone International

We are over in the Sipcot area, which is basically where all the heavy lifting happens around here. Art Stone International isn't a place with a shiny front desk or people in suits. It’s more about the grit and the actual work of handling stone. We get these large shipments and then we have to sort through everything to see what is good enough to send out. The dust is something you just get used to after the first week. We have a few guys who are really good at spotting flaws in the rock that most people wouldn't even notice. It takes a lot of patience to work here because stone doesn't move fast, and you can't rush the machines or they will mess up the finish. We spend a lot of time on the phone with transport guys, trying to figure out why the trucks are running late or where the next load is coming from. It’s a practical business. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just trying to supply stone that looks decent and holds up over time. Sometimes the weather makes it tough, especially when it rains and the yard gets muddy, but we keep the loaders moving anyway. People know where to find us if they need a bulk order. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every single day to stay on schedule.
