M P Caterers is located on the first floor of the Gupta Complex on Railway Road in Rishikesh. Being near the HDFC Bank makes it easy for people to find us, though carrying heavy crates of vegetables and big cooking pots up those stairs is a real workout every single day. My name is on the sign, and I spend most of my time either in the kitchen or on the phone talking to vegetable vendors. Rishikesh is a busy place with all the pilgrims and visitors, so there’s always something happening. We handle the cooking for local events and gatherings around here. It’s hot work, standing over big burners for hours, making sure the dal is right and the rotis are fresh. We don’t have a fancy menu with words you can't pronounce. We just make the kind of food people actually like to eat at a party. The kitchen can get pretty chaotic when we have three orders going at once. Sometimes a delivery is late or a helper doesn't show up, and I have to jump in and do the chopping myself. It’s not a glamorous life, but seeing people enjoy a good meal makes the long hours worth it. We've been in this spot for a while now and the neighbors know us well. It’s just simple, local catering done by people who live right here and know the taste of the city.
