Haridwar is a very spiritual place, so being a pure vegetarian spot is just what fits the neighborhood. We get a lot of pilgrims who have traveled a long way to visit the temples or take a dip in the river. The Upper Road area is always packed with people walking around, so it gets quite loud and busy outside our door. We’ve been serving food here for a good amount of time now. The kitchen starts early because people want their breakfast before they head out for the day. We don't use any fancy techniques or pretend to be a high-end restaurant. It’s just honest cooking for people who want a simple meal without any meat. The space inside is functional. We have tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years, but they hold up just fine. Managing a place in a town like Haridwar means you have to be ready for big crowds during festival times. It can get a bit overwhelming when the streets are full, but we just keep doing what we do. We don't have any big mission statements or corporate goals. We just want to make sure the food is ready and the water is cold for anyone who stops by.
