Jai Dwarkadhish Bhojnalay & Caterers

We are based in Haridwar, not too far from the Ashok Hotel and right next to the Gujarati Dharamshala. Being in a place like this, we see a lot of people coming through for pilgrimage or just visiting the temples. Our bhojnalay is a simple place where we serve meals to people who are far from home. We also do catering for groups staying in the nearby lodges and dharamshalas. The kitchen stays very busy because the demand for food never really stops in Haridwar. We use big pots and cook in large quantities because that’s the only way to keep up. The space is a bit cramped sometimes when we have a lot of catering orders going out at once. We don't have a professional decorator; we just put up some basic tables and made sure there was enough water for everyone. It’s a humble operation run by a small group of us who know how to handle the rush. The street outside is usually full of people and rickshaws, so it’s never quiet. We focus on getting the food delivered on time to the different locations where we cater. We don't make any big promises, we just do our best to get the cooking finished before the meal times. It's hard work, but we are used to the pace of this holy city.
