Shiva Gangsaw Industries

Our workshop is located right behind the police station in Purani Chhawani. It’s on Ab Road, so the trucks can get in and out without too much trouble. We run the gangsaw machines here to cut through big blocks of stone. It’s a noisy place, as you can imagine. The machines have been running for years. We started Shiva Gangsaw Industries because there was a need for local cutting services. Mostly we handle marble and granite blocks that come in from the quarries. The water runs constantly to keep the blades cool. It’s a messy job, but someone has to do it. We have a small crew of guys who know how to set the blocks just right. If you miss by a little bit, the whole slab can be ruined. We’ve had our share of broken blades and power cuts. That’s just how it goes in this line of work. We don't have a front office with air conditioning. You’ll usually find us out on the floor or near the loading area. People bring their stone to us, and we cut it to the thickness they need. It takes time, depending on how hard the stone is. We try to get things done when we say we will, but sometimes the machines need repairs. It’s a simple setup, nothing fancy to look at, just a place where work gets done every day. We just focus on the cutting and getting the slabs ready for the next step.
