Shri Ganesh Stone

We are set up at Sagartal Chouraha in Bahodapur. If you are looking for us, we are near the Rajman Wali Mata temple, which is a big landmark around here. Working with stone is a heavy, dirty business, and Shri Ganesh Stone reflects that. There is always a layer of white dust on everything, including our clothes. We spend our days moving heavy blocks and cutting them down to size. The sound of the saws is something you just learn to live with. It is a lot of physical labor, and by the end of the day, your arms really feel it. We do not have a fancy showroom. Most of our stone is just stacked up in the yard for people to see. We deal with builders and people working on their own houses. Sometimes it is hard to find good help, so we end up doing most of the heavy lifting ourselves. The location at the chouraha is good because it is easy for trucks to pull in. We do not really do much in the way of promotion. People see the stone when they pass by the temple and they stop in. It is an honest way to make a living, even if it is tough on the body. We just focus on the stone and making sure the cuts are straight enough for whatever job is being done. It is hard work, but we are used to it.
