Mohd Zakir

I’m Mohd Zakir, and you can find my workspace at H 36/26 in DLF Phase-I, over in Sikanderpur. Gurgaon has become such a massive, crowded place over the years, but this part of Sikanderpur still feels manageable for someone like me. I set up here because it’s a central location, even if the traffic on the main road can be a total nightmare sometimes. My office isn't one of those glass towers you see in the distance. It’s a more traditional building where I’ve taken over a portion to run my business. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I’ve seen the whole area transform from empty lots into what it is today. I keep my operations pretty small. It’s easier to manage things when you aren't trying to oversee a hundred people. Most of my day is spent looking at papers or talking to people who stop by the office. It gets a bit dusty with all the construction nearby, so I’m always cleaning off my desk or moving things around. I don’t use any complicated systems to run things. I just keep a notebook and make sure I don’t forget what I promised to do. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s steady and it pays the bills. People around here know me as Zakir, and they know where to find me if they need something done. I try to stay out of the corporate rat race and just focus on my own small corner of Gurgaon. It works for me and keeps me busy.
