About Lal Chand Tea Stall – Food & Beverages in Gurugram
You can find us at Wz-1206 on the main Pankha Road in Nangal Raya. It’s just a simple tea stall. We have a large brass pot that’s almost always boiling on the stove. The fire goes on early in the morning and we don’t put it out until late at night. There are a couple of old wooden benches outside that have seen better days. People sit there to take a short break from the heavy traffic on the road. The road is always dusty and quite loud. We serve our tea in small glass tumblers. Sometimes we have biscuits or some rusk kept in glass jars on the shelf. The shelf is a bit crooked and old. My name is on the sign outside, but mostly people just call out for a cup of chai. We don't have a printed menu. Everyone who comes here knows exactly what we have. It’s just tea and maybe some basic snacks. The walls inside are a bit stained from all the steam over the many years. We use a lot of fresh ginger in the tea when it gets cold in the winter. I handle the stove myself and my nephew helps with the washing and cleaning. We don't have fancy machines. Just a simple gas burner and some basic metal utensils. It’s a place where locals stop to chat for five minutes before moving on with their day. We just keep the tea hot.
