Krishna Craft Emporium

We sit right opposite Utsav Garden at the Atul Kataria Chowk. It’s a very busy intersection, so there is always the sound of traffic and people outside on Sheetla Mata Road. Inside the emporium, things are a bit more still. We have shelves filled with brass statues, wooden carvings, and small trinkets that people like to give as gifts. A lot of the items are a bit dusty because there are so many of them and they have lots of little details. We spend our mornings dusting the shelves and moving things around to make more room. Sometimes people stop in on their way to a wedding at the garden across the street. We wrap things in old newspapers or bubble wrap so they don't break on the way home. The air smells a bit like incense because we sometimes light a stick near the door. It’s a family-run kind of place. We don't have fancy lights or computer screens everywhere. We just use a simple ledger to write down what we sell. The floor is old stone and stays cool even when it’s hot outside. Sometimes we just sit on the stools and watch the cars go by the chowk. It’s a lot of sitting and waiting, then a sudden rush of people. We just keep the shop open and see who comes in.
