Gautam Tea Stall

We have been here at Kalkaji Extension Building No 13/3 for quite a while now. Most people know us because we are right near the Kalkaji Police Station. It gets busy in the mornings when folks are heading to work and need their first cup of tea. We just keep the stove going all day. Sometimes the milk delivery is late or the rain makes it hard to sit outside, but we manage. It’s a small place, nothing fancy at all. You’ll see the same faces every afternoon, mostly locals or people working nearby who just want a break. We don't have much of a menu, just the usual tea and maybe some biscuits if we haven't run out. The noise from the street is always there, but you get used to it after a few years. My father used to handle things, and now I do. We try to keep the benches clean, though dust is a constant battle in this part of Delhi. It isn't a big shop with air conditioning, just a regular stall where the tea is hot and the conversations are loud. Sometimes the tea is a bit sweeter depending on who is making it that day. We just open up early and close when the sun goes down. It's just how things go here at Gautam Tea Stall. We don't plan on moving anywhere else.
