Cotton Crafters

Satish Kumar runs things here at House Number 840 in Gali No. 5A. If you know Patel Nagar in Gurgaon, you know it is a bit crowded and loud, but we like it just fine. We have been doing cotton work for a while now. It started out as a small idea and now the rooms are mostly full of fabric and thread. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit outside on the steps for a bit until it comes back. We handle all the work right here on the property. It is not a big factory or anything fancy with glass windows. It is just a few of us making things out of cotton that people in the neighborhood can actually use. Gurgaon gets really hot in the summer months, so working with cotton makes the most sense to us. The street outside is always busy with cycles and people walking by our door. We try to keep our daily routine simple. You won't find any big signs or bright lights at our place. It is just a regular house where work happens every day from morning until evening. Sometimes the stitching takes us longer than we thought it would, or a delivery gets delayed because the traffic on the main road is blocked, but we eventually get it done. We have lived in this area for many years, so most of the neighbors know what we do.
