Coffee Day Xpress

Our little spot is at 1139A, Maruti Vihar, tucked right behind Sahara Mall in Gurgaon. It’s a busy little corner of Haryana. Most of our day is spent around the smell of coffee beans and the sound of the milk steamer. We see a lot of people coming in for a quick break from their office jobs or while they’re out shopping at the mall. It’s not a massive cafe where you sit for hours, it’s more about getting that quick cup to go. We have a small counter and we’re always keeping an eye on the supplies. Sometimes we run low on sugar or stirrers and someone has to run out and get more. The mornings are definitely the most hectic. Everyone wants their drink exactly the same time. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can without making mistakes. The area behind the mall is always full of cars and people walking by. We’ve gotten to know some of the regulars who come by every single day at the same time. They don’t even have to say their order anymore. It’s just us working behind the counter, keeping the machines clean and the coffee hot. It’s a simple setup, nothing fancy. We just focus on the drinks and making sure the machine is working right. It’s a decent way to spend the day, talking to people and making coffee for the neighborhood.
