Southern Eastern Roadways. Our main office is located right on New Railway Road, which is very close to Bhargava Place. This is a pretty old part of the city and the building we are in has been here for a long time. We handle a lot of different goods that come through this specific route and the trucks are constantly pulling in and out of the narrow lanes throughout the day. It can be a real headache when the traffic gets bad near the railway station, but we have learned how to manage it over the years. Inside the office it is mostly just stacks of waybills and a few old ceiling fans spinning to try and keep the heat away. I spend most of my time coordinating between the warehouse staff and the people who are waiting for their parcels to arrive. The phone is almost always ringing with someone asking about a delay or a specific delivery time. We have a small wooden bench outside where the loaders take their breaks and drink their tea. It is a bit noisy with the sound of the trains and the general traffic, but you stop noticing it after you’ve been here for a few months. We don't do anything fancy, just move boxes and crates from one place to another. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult because we have to cover the loading area with big plastic sheets very fast to keep the goods dry. We’ve been part of this street for a long time.
