The J S K Roadlines

Our place is right off National Highway 8, specifically near the Hero Honda Chowk. It’s a loud spot because of all the big trucks and cars flying by on the highway all day and night. We are situated quite close to Roseland Public School, so we see the kids and parents in the mornings before the real heavy traffic starts up. The yard is usually full of dust and there’s always a truck idling somewhere. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, but it’s what we do. We spend most of our hours tracking which driver is where and when they’ll be back. The office is just a simple room with some old files and a fan that clicks a bit. We don’t really put on any airs here. If you come by, you’ll probably see us arguing over a map or checking a tire. It’s just the way things go at J S K Roadlines. We’ve been at this location for a while, and the locals know us. The highway life is fast, but inside the gate, we try to keep a handle on things. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, especially when the monsoon hits that part of the road near the chowk. We just keep pushing through it. There’s no secret to it, just showing up and making sure the loads are secured properly. The school nearby means we have to be extra careful in the mornings. It’s a strange mix of kids in uniforms and big lorries carrying heavy loads.
