If you come down to Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar and look for Shop No 413 in Block Ag, you will find Syndicate Carriers. This place is always loud with the sound of big engines and people shouting orders. We've been in Badli for a long time. It’s a dusty part of town, especially when all the trucks are moving at once. Our shop isn't much to look at, just a place to keep the spare parts and sit down for a minute. Most of the time we are outside, checking the trailers or talking to the loaders. We handle all sorts of heavy stuff. It's a tough job and the hours are long. My hands are usually covered in grease by noon. We don't use much fancy technology here, mostly just notebooks and a lot of shouting across the yard. The drivers come in tired from long trips, and we try to get them back on the road quickly. It’s a community here in the transport nagar. Everyone knows everyone else's business. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. The office gets hot in the afternoon, so we usually sit outside on the plastic chairs. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, day in and day out, right here at shop 413. We don't mind the noise or the dirt, it's just how things are around here.
