Rocket Chef

Rocket Chef is tucked away at D-3 in Sector 17, Gurgaon. We are quite close to the Maharana Pratap Chowk, which means the traffic outside is almost always a mess. Our space isn't very big. Most of what we do involves packing containers and handing them over to delivery drivers who are always in a rush. The kitchen is the heart of the whole thing, and it stays pretty warm in there even when the winter hits. We have a small team, and we all know each other's habits by now. It’s a lot of chopping, stirring, and checking the orders coming in on the machines. We don't have a fancy dining room with velvet curtains. It's more of a place where the focus is on getting the food out the door. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients because the supplier didn't show up on time, so we just have to tell people we can't make that dish today. That’s just how it goes sometimes. The floor gets a bit slippery by the end of the shift, so we have to be careful. We aren't trying to change the world; we just want to make sure the food we send out is hot and tastes okay. It’s a busy life in Gurgaon, and we are just one small part of the noise in Sector 17. We keep the back door open for a breeze when it gets too smoky.
