Gulab Wala

Gulab Wala is a busy spot at 92-Idc on Mehrauli Gurgaon Road in Sector 14. We are right near the MDI Chowk, which means there are always cars and bikes zooming past. It is a very loud corner of Gurgaon. Inside, it’s a different story. We have counters filled with sweets and snacks. Most people come in for a quick bite or to pack something for home. The floor usually has a few crumbs because we get so many people walking in and out all day. Our staff is quick because they have to be. If you stand around too long, you’ll probably get bumped by someone else trying to get their order. We don't have a lot of fancy seating; it’s more about getting your food and moving on. The kitchen is always going, and you can smell the frying and the sugar from the street. We go through a lot of paper plates and napkins. It gets especially crazy during Diwali or other festivals when everyone wants boxes of sweets. We just try to keep the queues moving so nobody gets too annoyed. It’s a local place where people know what they want before they even walk through the door. We have been here for years, watching the city change around us. We keep the display cases full and the snacks fresh every single day.
