New Surjit Machine Tools

Down on Kahnuwan Road in Batala, you will find us at New Surjit Machine Tools. We are situated near the Namdhari Dharamshala, which is a pretty well-known spot for people in this part of Gurdaspur district. The street outside can get a bit narrow when the tractor-trolleys come through, but we manage. We spend most of our time dealing with machine parts and various tools that the local workshops need. It is mostly hands-on work here. We don't have a big marketing team or a fancy website because we are usually too busy with the grease and the metal. The shop is filled with the sound of grinding and cutting for most of the day. Sometimes we take a break for tea when the sun is at its peak. It’s a simple setup. We know most of our neighbors and they know us. The Punjab winters are cold, so we wear heavy sweaters while we work. In the monsoon, the rain hits the roof quite hard, making it difficult to hear each other, but the work doesn't stop. We just keep going. People know us by our name and our location near the Dharamshala. It’s a practical life, working with our hands and making sure the machines are ready. We don't make big promises, we just do what we are supposed to do every day until it’s time to go home.
