Jagdeep Foundary

Jagdeep Foundary is situated right on the G.T. Road, so we hear the sound of trucks passing by all day long. It is a loud and hot place to work, but that is just the nature of a foundry. We spend our time working with molten metal and sand molds. It is not the kind of job where you can stay clean. By lunchtime, everyone is covered in soot and dust. We make various iron and steel parts for machinery, mostly for people who have shops nearby or further down the road. My father started this business a long time ago, and we haven't changed much about how we do things. We don't use any high-tech computers to design the molds. We just rely on what we have learned over the years. The furnace is the heart of the shop, and keeping it at the right temperature is half the battle. Sometimes a casting comes out with a flaw, and we just have to melt it down and start over again. It is frustrating, but it is part of the process. We don't have a fancy office or a receptionist. If someone wants to talk to us, they usually just walk into the shed and find us near the molds. We aren't trying to grow into some huge corporation. We just want to make good parts that last. The G.T. Road is a tough place to work, but we are used to it by now. We finish work around sunset most days.
