Shri Shiv Tent House & Cateres

Working out of Vasundhara 242, near Gate 1 in Sector 5, keeps us pretty busy during the wedding season. Shri Shiv Tent House & Cateres has been a part of this Sahibabad neighborhood for years. Most of our time is spent loading and unloading trucks with poles, fabric, and big cooking pots. It’s heavy work and my hands are usually a bit rough from handling the ropes. We don't have a fancy office; it’s more of a place where we keep all the gear and meet people to discuss their plans. Organizing a function involves a lot of moving parts, and we’ve seen it all—from sudden rain to last-minute guest list changes. We just try to get the tent up straight and the food ready on time. My cousins help me out with the catering side. We aren't gourmet chefs, just people who know how to cook for a large crowd so that nobody goes home hungry. The storage space gets messy because there’s always something being cleaned or repaired. It’s noisy when the trucks are idling outside, and sometimes the neighbors complain about the space we take up on the road. But when there is a celebration, everyone is happy to see us. We’ve been through many seasons now. We just do our jobs, pack up the tents, and move on to the next site. It’s a tiring business but it’s what we know. The sun is hot in May.
