Shyam Tent House

Shyam Tent House is based over at C-795 in Rajeev Colony, Mohan Nagar Sector-5, Rajendra Nagar. This business is mostly about hard physical labor and being outdoors. We have a big storage area where we keep the poles, the heavy canvas tents, and stacks of plastic chairs. When there is a wedding or a local function, we load everything onto the back of a truck and head out to the site. It’s a lot of sweating in the sun, hammering stakes into the ground and stretching out long pieces of fabric. The fabric isn't always brand new, but we try to keep it clean and presentable for the events. We are a small crew of workers who have been doing this for years, so we move pretty fast once we get started. It gets really busy during the marriage season, and sometimes we go days without much sleep. Other times, when there are no events, we just sit around the shop repairing torn sheets or painting the metal pipes to keep them from rusting. We don't have a fancy office to show people pictures; usually, they just see our work at someone else's party and call us. It’s a tiring job and it’s definitely not glamorous, but it pays the bills and keeps us active. We’ve been in this colony for a long time and everyone knows where to find us.
