Sai Flower Decorators is based in Vijay Nagar Sec 9. My life revolves around flowers and the early hours of the morning. Usually, I have to be up before the sun to get the best stock from the markets. By the time most people are waking up, I’m already back in Sec 9, sorting through stems and petals. It’s messy work. There’s water on the floor, cut leaves everywhere, and the smell of roses and marigolds is always in the air. We do a lot of different kinds of setups for people in the neighborhood. Whether it’s for a small gathering or just someone wanting to make their place look better, we handle the decoration. Vijay Nagar is a big area, but Sec 9 has its own community feel. I don’t have a fancy office. I mostly work out of my space where the flowers are kept cool. My hands are often scratched from thorns, and my clothes always have bits of pollen on them. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what I do. I don’t use any corporate language or have a big sales pitch. People see the work we do at local events and then they find us. It’s all very word-of-mouth. Sometimes the flowers don’t arrive on time or the weather is too hot, and we just have to figure it out as we go. It’s a practical, hands-on kind of business.
