We have been sitting here at Shop No. 1 and 2 for a good while now. Indrapuram has changed a lot since we opened up in Makanpur Village. You can hear the traffic from NH-24 all day if the door is open. Most mornings start with dusting the shelves because the road brings in a lot of grit. We handle architectural stuff, mainly things people need when they are finishing up a house or a new office. It’s a lot of metal handles, glass fittings, and those little bits that make a building look done. My nephew helps me with the inventory, though he’s usually on his phone when I’m not looking. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just rows of boxes and some samples on the walls so people can see what they’re buying. Sometimes the tea guy from down the street comes by twice before we even have our first customer. It gets busy in the afternoons when the contractors finish their site visits and realize they forgot to pick up a specific hinge or a door closer. We just keep things moving, making sure the stock is there when someone walks in. It’s not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy. The shop is small but we pack a lot in. If you’re coming from the highway, you just look for the Makanpur turn and we are right there near the start.
