Metro Tant House

Our place, Metro Tant House, is on the main road at A-184 in Shalimar Garden, Sahibabad. It’s a busy spot, and we’re usually surrounded by piles of chairs and folded-up tables. Running a tent business means you’re always on the move. We spend a lot of time at different sites, hammering stakes into the ground and pulling ropes tight. The fabric we use needs constant mending because it gets snagged or worn out. It’s not a glamorous job. You end up with a lot of dust on your clothes by the end of the day. We have a small office area at the front of the shop where we keep the ledger. It’s nothing fancy, just a desk and a couple of chairs for when someone wants to sit and talk about their event. We don’t use any big marketing words. We just tell people what we have and what we can do. Sometimes we run out of certain colors of drapes if there are too many bookings at once, so we have to manage with what's available. The workers have been with us for years, so they know exactly how to set things up without being told. We’re just a local business trying to keep things moving. It gets very busy during the festival months, and we hardly get any sleep then. But we’ve been here at A-184 for so long that it feels like home now. Most days are long but we don't mind much as long as the work keeps coming.
