If you walk through the Nagar Nigam Market on Patel Marg, you’ll find us at number 8. Janki Tent & Decorators has been in this spot for a while now. The market is always loud, with people shouting and scooters weaving through the crowds in Niraj Vihar. Our shop is filled with rolls of fabric and decorative pieces that we use for setting up stages. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, especially when we are preparing for a big job. We have stacks of carpets and bundles of cloth leaning against the walls. It isn't a place where you'll find air conditioning or fancy chairs to sit on while you wait. We usually just stand around the main table and figure out the logistics for the next event. The location at Patel Marg 8 is convenient because the suppliers can reach us easily, though parking is always a headache for everyone. My clothes usually have some glitter or thread on them by the end of the shift. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just focus on getting the tents up straight and making sure the decorations don't fall down mid-way through a function. It’s honest work that keeps us busy from morning until late at night. Sometimes we stay late just to organize the inventory so we can find things the next day, which helps keep our heads clear.
