Himalayan Tent House

Himalayan Tent House is located at C 22 in Shalimar Garden, specifically in the Sahibabad area. This isn't really an office where people sit around all day. It is more like a warehouse where we keep all the heavy stuff. We have those massive iron poles for the big tents and piles of folded up carpets that smell a bit like rain and old fabric. When the wedding season starts, the place gets very hectic. Trucks are backed up to the entrance at four in the morning and we are loading up the white linens and the decorative cloths. It gets quite dusty back there with all the fabric moving around. We have some plastic chairs stacked up in the corner, maybe a few hundred of them, and they are always getting scuffed up. My hands are usually a bit rough from handling the ropes and the metal frames all day. When people come to talk about an event, we usually just clear off a spot on one of the benches. It is a practical business. We don't spend money on fancy decorations for the shop because all our gear is out at sites most of the time anyway. In the off-season, we spend a lot of time mending tears in the tents or painting the poles so they don't rust too much. It is just hard work and a lot of lifting every day.
