Running a business in Shyam Park Gali No-2 isn't always quiet, but we like it that way. Our place is on the Main Shyam Park road in Sahibabad, right at number 622. We handle a lot of different supplies and items that people in the neighborhood need for their daily work or homes. The shop is filled with crates and boxes most of the time because we are always getting new stock in. It’s a bit cramped inside if more than three people walk in at once, but we manage. We’ve seen the area change over the years, more traffic and more noise, but we stay right here. My hands are usually a bit dusty from moving things around all morning. We don’t have fancy displays or bright lights, just shelves that hold what we sell. If someone needs something specific and we don't have it, we tell them straight instead of making them wait. It’s just how we do things. Most of the people who come here are regulars who live just a few streets away. They know where we sit and they know we’ll give them the right price without a lot of talking. Sometimes we sit outside on the stools when the power goes out. It’s just a normal life here in Sahibabad, keeping the shop running and making sure the inventory stays full for the next day. We spend our evenings checking the lists and drinking chai while the street gets a bit quieter.
