Delhi Public School

Out here in Gaya, specifically at the 823001 pincode area, Delhi Public School is a pretty well-known landmark. The school sits on a decent piece of land and you can see it from a distance when you're driving up. Life here follows a very set pattern. The sun comes up, the yellow buses start rolling in from various parts of town, and the noise level just peaks until about two in the afternoon. We have a lot of open space, which is good because it gets quite dusty in this part of Bihar during the dry season. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we all know each other well. Inside the building, things are pretty straightforward. We have the classrooms, a library that smells like old paper, and a lab that the kids like visiting. It’s not a quiet place by any means. There’s always someone practicing for a skit or running across the field. We deal with the usual stuff like power cuts and the heat, but we just keep going. It’s an honest way to spend the day. Most of the parents come by for meetings once a month, and the small shops near the gate do good business selling pens and notebooks. We aren't trying to be anything other than a place where kids can learn their lessons and go home.
