Akash International Public School

Our school is sitting on the Sam Chakand Road. If you are driving through Gaya, you’ll see the building in the Chakand area. It’s a pretty straightforward place. We have students coming in from the nearby villages and some from the town too. The road gets a bit dusty in the summer months, but we try to keep the classrooms inside cool enough for the kids to focus. Most of us who work here have been in the area for a long time. We aren't trying to be anything too fancy. We just focus on the books and making sure the students follow the rules. There is a small area where they play during lunch. Sometimes the parents stop by to talk about how their kids are doing, and we usually just chat outside or in the small office. We have a few buses that run the routes around the Sam Chakand area to pick everyone up. It can be a bit of a challenge when traffic is heavy, but we manage. The building has been here for a while now. We keep adding a little bit here and there when we have the funds. It’s a local school for local people. Nothing more, nothing less. We don’t use a lot of big words or have complicated systems. We just want the kids to learn their lessons so they can do something good later on. It is a lot of work every day.
