City Bakers

City Bakers is over at 5-D/89 in the Nit area. It’s a small place but we make it work for everything we need to do. Being in Nit means we see a lot of the same faces every day, which is nice. Our shop at 5-D/89 is where we spend almost all our time. We start early in the morning when most of the neighborhood is still asleep. The smell of the ovens is usually the first thing people notice when they walk by. It’s a basic setup with the kitchen in the back and a small area in the front. We don’t have a team of designers making the place look trendy. It’s just a regular local spot. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are more focused on the work itself. We’ve got our routine down to a science by now. We know exactly how long everything takes and what needs to happen first. Sometimes it gets a bit warm in here because of the equipment, but that’s just how it is. We don't have a big corporate office or a board of directors. It’s just us doing the daily grind. People in Nit know where we are if they need us. We don’t try to be something we’re not. We just keep the ovens going and handle the daily tasks as they come. It is hard work and the days are long, but we are used to it by now.
