Shree Mati Suraj Kumari Inter College

We are out in Ganeshpur, which is a part of Etah. Being an inter college in this area means we see a lot of students from the nearby villages. The roads can be a bit rough, especially during the rainy season, so getting here is sometimes an adventure for the staff and the kids. The building is a solid structure that has stood through many seasons. We don't have the fancy facilities you might find in a big city, but we have classrooms and we have teachers who show up every day. Life here is tied to the local community. We know the families and we know which kids have to help out at home after school. Our days are filled with the sound of the school bell and students reciting their lessons. There is a lot of dust because of the open areas around us, so we are always sweeping. We have a small playground where the kids play mostly cricket or just run around. The office is always busy with paperwork because everything is still done mostly by hand here. We don't have a big website or anything like that; people just know us because we’ve been here for years. It’s a humble place, and we are fine with that. We just want to make sure the kids in Ganeshpur have a chance to finish their schooling without having to travel too far from home.
