Janta Inter College

Janta Inter College is situated right on G.T. Road in Pilua. This is out in the Etah district. Being on the main road means there’s always traffic and noise passing by. It’s a busy spot. The college itself is a straightforward place for students in the area. We have been here for a long time. People from all the surrounding villages know us. It’s an inter college, so we see a lot of teenagers coming in for their higher secondary education. The building is large and has that old-school feel to it. We have big classrooms and wide hallways. It’s not modern or sleek. It’s just functional. We have a lot of students, so it can get pretty crowded during peak hours. The staff works out of a simple office. We handle all the admissions and exam forms manually for the most part. There’s a lot of paper everywhere. In the winter, it gets quite cold in this part of Uttar Pradesh, so everyone wraps up in sweaters. In summer, we just keep the windows open. We don't have any fancy mission statements or slogans. We just provide a place for young people to study. It’s a big part of the local life in Pilua. We just keep the doors open and the classes running. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it for years. Most of our former students still live nearby and say hello when they pass.
