Sultanpur in Etah is where you will find us. Veerangna Avanti Bayi Kanya Inter College is a big part of the life for the girls around here. The college building sits in a quiet corner of Sultanpur, away from the main hustle but still close enough for everyone to reach. We see the students coming in from all the nearby villages early in the morning. Many of them walk or come on cycles. The courtyard inside is where they gather before classes start. It is an older building with thick walls that stay cool even when the Etah sun is beating down outside in the summer. We spend a lot of time just managing the daily schedule and making sure the rooms are ready for the lectures. The college is strictly for girls, so it has its own unique atmosphere. You will see groups of friends sitting under the trees during their free periods, talking and sharing lunch. There is always something to fix, whether it is a leaky tap or a squeaky door. We do not have much in the way of luxury, just plain benches and desks for the students. The teachers are usually busy with their registers and marking papers in the staff room.
