Our office is tucked away on the first floor of the Panakkal House. It is right on Vyloppilly Lane, just off Jawahar Road in Vyttila. If you know Ernakulam, you know how busy this part of town gets. We deal with infrastructure work, which means we spend a lot of time looking at maps and talking to contractors. It isn't always glamorous work. Some days involve just sitting through meetings and trying to figure out why a pipe is where it shouldn't be. We have a small team here. We aren't some huge corporation with hundreds of people in suits. Most of us just wear plain shirts and get on with the day. The office can get a bit cluttered with rolls of drawings and old coffee mugs. Working in Vyttila means we are right in the middle of everything, which helps when we need to visit a site or go to the city offices. We started Thanal because we knew there was a lot of building needed in this part of Kerala. Roads, drains, and all those things that people use every day but don't really think about. We just do the work and try to keep things moving. It gets hot in the afternoons, and the traffic outside can be a headache, but we like being here. We are just a group of people trying to build stuff that works for the neighborhood. There is 51/321A on the door, so you can find us easily enough.
