Kakkanad is a busy place these days, and we’re right in the middle of it at Building No 21 on Kakkanad Line. We’re Techorum Builders & Developers. To be honest, we aren't often in the office because there's always something going on at a site somewhere. My boots usually have a bit of dried mud on them by lunch, and that’s just part of the job. Building houses and other stuff around here involves a lot of chasing after suppliers and making sure the sand arrives before the rain starts. It’s not like those fancy corporate videos you see online. It’s mostly just us talking to masons, checking the levels, and dealing with the local paperwork that never seems to end. We’ve been around this area for a while now. Some days the traffic is so bad near the office that I just walk to the site. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. Most people find us because they saw one of our buildings or heard about us from a neighbor. We just try to get the walls straight and the roof on time. It’s a lot of phone calls and standing around in the sun. The office is pretty basic, just a few desks and some old maps on the wall. It’s a practical space for a practical job. We just keep working and try to stay ahead of the monsoon.
