Hyatt Regency New Delhi

This place is located in Malayattoor, which is in the Ernakulam district of Kerala. The address is Urakkadan House, right via Kalady. Even though the name says New Delhi, we are actually situated down here in the 683587 area. It’s a much different pace than the big city would be. We deal with guests and the day-to-day running of the property. There is a lot of cleaning to do and we spend a lot of time making sure the rooms are ready for whoever is arriving next. The humid weather in Kerala means we are always busy with maintenance and keeping the gardens from getting too overgrown. We have a lot of local staff who come in from the nearby villages every morning. It’s a quiet area compared to the city centers, which is why people come here. We see a mix of people coming through. Some are just passing through Kalady on a trip and others stay for a bit longer to see the sights. We don't use a lot of big words or fancy talk with the guests, we just show people to their rooms and make sure they have enough towels and water. The kitchen stays busy with the local food we serve, and you can usually smell the spices in the hallway. We spend our mornings checking the supplies and making sure everything is in order. It’s a lot of physical work, keeping the floors polished and the place looking decent. We are just a group of people working together.
