Out in Marady Gramma Panchayath, life is a bit slower than in the city. We’re Arakuzha Builders, and our office is at III/271-D in Muvattupuzha. It’s a nice spot, a bit away from the main Ernakulam rush. Being in a panchayath means we know almost everyone we work for. Most of our projects are right here in the local area. We spend our mornings out on the sites, checking the foundation levels or talking to the carpenters about the door frames. It’s a lot of manual work and checking the sky to see if it’s going to rain. In Muvattupuzha, the weather can really mess up your schedule, so we have to be flexible. We don’t have a big, fancy office with air conditioning and glass walls. It’s just a simple room with some tables and chairs, and usually a bit of dust from the material samples we keep around. We don’t do any of that corporate marketing stuff. Usually, a neighbor sees a house we finished and asks who did it. That’s how we get most of our jobs. It’s pretty simple. We manage the local labor, get the bricks from the nearby yard, and make sure the structure is solid. Building a home is a big deal for people here, so we take it seriously, even if we are just casual in our own way. We're just local people doing a job we know how to do.
