Akp Metal & Alloys

Akp Metal & Alloys is located right on Broadway, not too far from Marine Drive. If you know Kochi, you know how busy this area gets. The air always smells a bit like the sea and old iron. We’ve been here for a while, dealing with all kinds of metal pieces and alloys. It’s a heavy job. My back usually aches by the time we close up for the evening. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s just a rugged space filled with piles of stock and the sound of metal clanging. Broadway is narrow and crowded, so getting trucks in and out is always a headache. We spend half our morning just coordinating with drivers so they don't block the whole street. It gets incredibly humid here, and we just leave the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the water near Marine Drive. There are no suits or ties in this office. Most of us are in old t-shirts that have seen better days. We deal with local builders and small workshops mostly. People come in looking for specific parts and we dig through the stacks until we find them. It’s a straightforward business without any bells and whistles. We work hard, we sweat a lot, and we go home. That’s about all there is to it. We just keep the metal moving and try to stay out of the rain.
