Our place, Apk Metals And Handicraft, is situated on the ground floor of the Kpv Estate. If you know Palarivattom, you’ve probably seen us on Civil Line Road, right across from the Chicking. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there’s always traffic and noise outside. We deal with metal items and various handicrafts here. The ground floor spot is handy for moving heavy metal pieces in and out without too much trouble. It’s not a polished gallery or anything; it’s more of a working space where we keep our stock and handle the daily tasks of the business. We get all kinds of people stopping by because we are in such a central location. Some days are packed with deliveries, and other days we are just organizing the shelves or checking the inventory. The air conditioning helps with the humidity in Kerala, but the door is usually opening and closing all day. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and have gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. It’s a practical setup. We handle the metalwork and the crafts with whatever tools we have on hand. It’s hard work, and the metal can be heavy, but it keeps us busy. We don’t really do much advertising; people mostly find us because they are walking by or have heard about us from someone else in the area. We just stick to what we know.
