Pragdev International Farmer Producer Company Limited is our group's name. Even though it sounds quite big with "International" in it, the reality is that we are just based at 30 Sai Colony in Pandhana. It’s the same area in Khandwa where many of us live and work. We decided to register this company to see if we could reach more buyers for our produce. Farming in Madhya Pradesh is getting more expensive every year. A way to cut down on costs was badly needed. By coming together as a producer company, we can talk to the wholesalers with more weight behind us. The office is a simple space in the colony. No air conditioning or fancy furniture can be found there. Usually, you’ll find a couple of us sitting there checking the market rates on our phones. We handle things like chickpeas, wheat, and whatever else the season allows. It has been a learning process for every one of us. Dealing with the government rules for companies is quite different from knowing when to sow seeds in a field. Sometimes mistakes are made with the filing, but we are learning as we go. We want our families to have a better future, so the extra hours are worth it. Hard work is just part of the job, but being together makes it feel a bit easier. Daily tasks take up most of our energy during the busy season.
