Aarudstar Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our place is over in Arud, and Radha Bai is the person who looks after things for Aarudstar Farmer Producer Company Limited. It is a small operation, mostly just neighbors and local farmers from around our village. We don't have a fancy office with a receptionist or anything like that. It is just a simple room where we keep our bags of seed and our paperwork. We spend most of our lives outside in the sun, so being stuck in an office feels a bit strange to us anyway. We started this company to help each other out during the harvest. It is very hard to get a good price when you are just one person with a few sacks of grain to sell. Together as a group, we can actually get the traders to listen to us. We deal with whatever is growing in the fields at the time. Sometimes it is a very good year, and everyone is feeling happy. Other times, the pests or the dry spells make things incredibly difficult for the families here. We don't pretend to have all the answers to the problems. We just work the land and try to keep our heads above water. You will usually find us talking about the weather more than anything else. It is a simple life, but it belongs to us. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to see the village do well.
