Our group is based in Sai Colony-I, over in Pandhana. If you're looking for us, we are at Plot No. 8 in Ward 13. It's a quiet neighborhood in Khandwa. We are a bunch of farmers who decided to team up. It makes sense to work together instead of everyone trying to do their own thing separately. We deal with the stuff we grow ourselves. There's no big boss here; we all have a say in how things go. Sometimes the meetings go on too long because everyone has an opinion, but that's how it is. The office is just a simple room with some chairs and a table where we keep the records. It gets hot in Khandwa, so we usually start early in the morning and take a break when the sun is high. We don't have a marketing department. We just talk to the other farmers around the district. People know us by name. We handle the selling and the supplies. It’s better this way because we understand the struggle of a bad monsoon or a pest problem. We aren't looking to get rich quick, just trying to make sure everyone gets a fair deal for their hard work. The paperwork can be a pain, but it's part of the job. It's just local people looking out for each other in our own corner of Madhya Pradesh. We’ve been doing this for a while now and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
